Miss California and Gay marriage

What is with the right and this messiah thing? I have never thought of Obama as a messiah nor do I agree with everything he has done. No one I know agree's with him 100%.

It actually is really dumb. When they start with the messiah, savior, whatever thing it just shows they can't articulate opinions without put downs.

It actually really irritates me. I don't assume every single righty loved Bush or even voted for him. Ok you don't like Obama, we get that but don't you have something more substantial than hitler and messiah, like a specific policy or executive order you did not like? Not just "he is a socialist". I doubt half the people who say that even know what the F it means.

Unlike BJean, I think Prejean was right to state her opinion. If they wanted a politically correct answer, Perez could have phrased the question differently (ie, "Gay marriage is a hot-button issue right now. Do you think not allowing gay marriage is constitutional? Why or why not?").

But to stir the pot a little, let me say this: I caught her "rebuttal speech" from when Trump let her keep the crown, and I think she is a terrible speaker. Total eye candy, but a terrible speaker.

I agree that you can show people respect even if you don't agree with everything they do.

I also have trouble believing that some people aren't just paying lip service because it sounds politically correct, but that they have pretty deep-seated bigotry at their core.

They certainly may. However, all this debacle did was prove that those who DO feel negatively about things will HAVE to be fake or face the consequences. You can't really change how people feel about certain issues. But for those who say that some are fake, well, now you see why.

Many on the left DO see him as akin to the second coming. There were those who were on YouTube the day he got elected saying that Obama was going to pay their mortgage and their car notes. I saw it myself.

Heck, I've even heard people in line at the store talking as if Obama is "gonna do this and that" for them. What's so sad is something about him makes certain people less reliant on themselves and instead believing that he's gonna do something for them. It's sickening.

Trust me, I know. And if anything, he's working past socialism and more towards the fascist side.

They certainly aren't being selected for their IQ. :crying:

It's sickening.

actually it's quite sickening for back handed slams for some who are actually intelligent enough to know better, but have faith he can do the job he was HIRED to do.

like the state of CA voting against gay marriage, the US voted prez obama in office.

I think she did okay, she seemed to be very fustrated with all that had transpired. She needs rest, she was tired.

Lulu, I'm not talking about those voters. I don't understand those voters, but I'm not talking about every single person who voted for him.

I'm solely talking about those select individuals who voted for him based on everything other than believing he could actually do the job as president, and that includes those who believe they would get something out of it.

I'd be happy to tutor this charming young woman in the nuances of speech. Nothing creepy about that, is there?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
