1st day back to work and I have been feeling dizzy and lightheaded off and on since yesterday. Any suggestion on what I'm doing wrong or is this normal?

More details would help, but for now, make sure you're getting enough calories in. If you've just had surgery, you're still on liquids and that could be part of it. Take it slow for a few days. Your body has been through a shock and it's not sure what to make of it!

If the dizziness is severe, call your doctor and let them know. They may want you to go back home for a few more days.

I hope you get to feeling better!

I was banded on the 20th as well... I felt the same way until I really started making sure I was getting the Water down. Are you having any trouble with that? I did at first, but now I am learning just how much I am able to drink at one time. JUst watch your hydration level would be my opinion.

Are you taking your Vitamins? I think those are very helpful at this point since you are not eating any food.< /p>

I also in the very early stages of being banded had alot of lightheaded episodes. What helped me was Gatoraid watered down to half gatoraid half Water.< /p>

Are you on mushies yet? I went back to work on day 7 and was on mushies so I think that helped. If not, make sure you are getting enough liquid calories.

You WILL make it through though.

I was banded on the 20th aswell and also feeling light headed now, 3rd day back at work. Im also getting pains when Ive been sitting for long periods (desk job) and need to constantly get up for walks.

Hopefully

I havent started taking any Vitamins as the ones I know I can take are tablets to mix with waters. Does anyone know any Vitamins I can take in a pill form rather than liquid or dilluted?

G2 is the best drink I've found - made by Gatorade - has no calories and low carbs and sugars, but it has the electrolytes that help you not to get dehydrated...they have it at Target, Wal-mart and Sams. I love the Grape!!!!!

I haven't looked at Flintstone's in years, but One A Day makes a chewable. I've had those for Breakfast for the past 6 months!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
