What do you listen to?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to find something to listen to while running on the treadmill. I have a very old mp3 player and a blackberry that I can download music to.

Any suggestions?

When I run on the treadmill, I usually am doing either Cardio Coach or Treadmill Trainer - if you google those, they're great MP3 interval programs that guide you through and make the workout FLY - and they get you super duper duper fit without it feeling like terribly hard work.

Outside, I regularly change it round, but one thing I did run to recently that was really really funny was the Best of ACDC. Lol, the fast tempo had me running at about 20km an hour, by the time I got home I was in a lather of sweat and ready to have a heart attack. Doug just said "shit, what happened to YOU"? I had the whole adrenaline thing going, he reckons my pupils were fully dilated!

Most of the music I like to run to is Aussie pub rock stuff, so I'm not much help in that regard.

 I had a friend who would work the night shift and driving home he'd have the windows down (in freezing weather) and ad/dc playing as loud as possible. I had forgotten that! It definitely seems to get the adrenaline pumping!

I have my IPOD loaded with dance music...fast tempo only. It ranges from Chuck berry to Beyonce...as long as it is fast, then it's good. So for my routine this morning I heard:

Springsteen, Elvis, Stones, Elton John, Avril Lavigne, Rod Stewart, Donna Somers, Chuck berry, Beatles, Jive Bunny, Cher, Backstreet Boys, Jerry Lee Lewis, U2, Phil Collins, Elvis Costello, Eric Clapton,

So far I've been blessed with making my trainer talk while we run. Tomorrow is my first 5K and he's in Miami. ;) So...to get beyond that, I've filled my MP3 player with dance/rap music. It's more pop than I usually listen to, but it's gotta help. I just want to avoid people talking to me! This won't be a social event for me...

But...when trying to figure out what to put on, I found this site. I thought it might be kind of helpful. See what you think and let me know! ;) Paige

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
