I don't know if there is a specific time. I'm getting mine because I think the size of my breasts are hindering my weight loss. I'm not able to do certain exercises with the proper level of intensity.

I've lost 100lbs and it will be 2yrs since my band in Oct. and I a went from pre-band ddd to post band dd. and I am scheduled to have mine done in Aug. I want to be at least a full c. It's not so much that they are too big now, but my back and neck hurt I think because well they just "hang"there, if you know what i mean! the best part is I get a lift done too! good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I'm having mine done on Tues. I have been weight stable for the last 6 mos but I want to lose another 25lbs (after BR). I do exercise but not enough because of shoulder/back pain. I also have spinal degenerative disease so they are really damaging my spine. My "girls" were large and dense even when I was 18 and 114lbs so I know just losing more weight won't reduce them down to a comfortable level. My PS says they are so dense that even if I lose another 25lbs they will not really lose their new shape. I'm also 57 yrs old so I don't care if they sag a little after I lose more. I think it's hard to know when to have them done. I would say that if your breast are fatty and if you are young and want to make sure they are as "perky" as possible -- then wait until you are at goal weight. But- if you have dense tissue (glands with little fat) and don't mind if they sag a little if you lose more weight, and think you will be able to diet/exercise better if they were smaller -- then go ahead and get them done.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
