Doctor in Toronto ????

Recommended Posts

I had a fill last Monday, and I was able to drink 500 ml of Water before I left, but now I am so bad that I cannot even keep water down. I called to see if I could get a defill but they cannot see me until tommorow at 2:30 pm.

Does anyone know where I could go in downtown Toronto to get this done now????

I really don't know about Toronto. However I think it is unacceptable that they won't see you for an emergency (unless the issue is that there is no doctor who can do it in the office).

I would call them back and tell them that you can't keep Water down and you need to be seen today. If you can't keep it down at all, it is a serious issue. Ask them if you can just come as a walk in and see if they can slide you in between appointments or if someone is late.

In the mean time, pb'ing or bringing stuff back up can increase the swelling in your stomach. I wouldn't suggest trying anything unless it is Water, hot tea or something similar.

I am sorry you are going through this. I have been in your shoes and I know how miserable it is. I hope they work you in quickly.

Thanks,

I've called the office twice and they tell me there is now one there who can do it. I am trying to find someplace else to go, Water and hot tea seem to be the best tolerated, but it does not stay down long..

Call them back and tell them that this cannot wait another 24 hours. If they can't do it, demand they help you find someone else. In 24 hours, you will be seriously dehydrated, your electrolytes will be out of whack from behing dehydrated AND you will be miserable from all that. They are abandoning the standard of care which is owed to you. Be your own advocate here. Don't ask. Demand (politely). If you don't feel you can do that, call your PCP and ask him/her to make the call for you. You need immediate assistance and the surgeon's office should always be able to contact your doctor or his back up for emergencies.
