BethFromVA 5 Posted April 24, 2009 And may I add, "youse" is not a word! Those of you who use that term, I'm sorry, but it's just NOT a proper word! Unfortunately it is in your part of the country. lol Oh, and "conversating"??? WHAT??? Look, people, if you can't use big words properly, don't even try and risk ending up looking like a window licking moron.

Laptastic 0 Posted April 24, 2009 I'm sure I will spend too much money trying to feed you two. I have to eat too. How about, "wear, were, where". They are not interchangable. Ooh, I hate, "I have three brother-in-laws." It's brothers-in-law. I thought I was the only pain in the ass that was annoyed by this.
Carrie_C 9 Posted April 25, 2009 Nope, I am a pain in the ass that's annoyed by it too! I hate when people can't say me and I the right way. My sister and I went to the beach. Give the key to you and me. I got a work email the other day from the office manager and she had used those wrong. GRRRRRRRR!!
BethFromVA 5 Posted April 25, 2009 Omg, what about "we had went..." Just shoot me now.
sweetbean70 2 Posted April 25, 2009 Finally! People who share my "love" of GRAMMAR BEEFS! Another peeve of mine are public signs that are misspelled. By the way, I had to fill out a questionnaire for a weight loss surgeon and one of the questions was... "How much weight do you want to LOOSE?" I corrected the error when I filled out my questionnaire. I wonder if I will be accepted into that program???
Carrie_C 9 Posted April 25, 2009 I was looking over a patient's chart at work the other day and one of the other nurses had written that the patient hadn't been seen since a year ago, but she spelled since 'cents'!
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted April 25, 2009 There are so many people that spell like something sounds. It's not even close to being spelled right. I take statements all the time from people at the attorney's office. It makes me wonder if any of these people went to school. Some of this is 4th grade grammar. My mother in law likes to say "I and dad went to the store" ggrrr
Band_Groupie 3 Posted April 26, 2009 (edited) I'm the grammar police at my house. My DD spells very poorly. I blame it on the 'invented spelling' program that she was a part of for four years in elementary school (spell it like it sounds). plain 12 Posted April 26, 2009 And for crying out loud, there is NO "M" in sandwich! I have heard commercials where they say samwich! GRRRR!! Um, are you referring to a portable meal of meat and vegetables between two slices of bread? That's known as a samich. And my favorite is going to the li-berry to get some books.
