I didn't make it to the meeting. I have excuses as always. My weekends are just full and going to Annapolis is less then an hour away I'm sure but I need someone to make me go. I will let my girlfriend know about it and she will make me go. She had bypass surgery about 3 years ago.

I'm glad you are feeling a little better and eating better to help loose more weight will motivate you even more. You are Awesome and don't forget it.

My doctor only gives me a fill if I stop loosing weight and have no restriction. I still see him about every six weeks also. Seeing that you don't have a lot to loose your weight lost will be slower on the scale because if you exercise you will be trading fat for muscle. So you will see the diffrence in your mirror and clothes and the scale is going to piss you off. It will just say 5 pounds gained when it means 5 pounds of fat gone and 3 pounds of muscle put on. LOL I call it the devils toy (le scale).

Good Luck Carrie

The scale pisses me off no matter what! I just joined Bally's and it is good so far. There are a variety of people there, which is good because I thought it would only be skinny people. Yeah, slow going pretty much sucks, especially since I am the kind of person who wants immediate results and quick fixes...I'm trying to get over that. Maybe us Marylanders should start a winter challenge amongst ourselves, lasting 10 weeks, weigh ourselves every Friday and report in??? Does anyone else want to do it? I just thought it would be fun and motivating. I'll start a new thread to see if anyone's interested.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
