CelticAngel 1 Posted April 23, 2009 Okay girls need some advice. I was banded on 4/9. Usually my period starts between the 10th and 15th. Well it still hasn't started. Now I know I'm not preggers (hubby is fixed and they did a preg test anyway) and I'm sure it's just the stress from the surgery and then the blood clot that has it all screwed up but I feel sooooo bloated! And my weight has gone up by a few pounds which I know is just Water weight but it's still annoying. Anyone else have this happen? Anyone know of a way to sort of kick start a period? Silly question I guess but this is driving me nuts. I just feel like if my period would start already I'd feel so much better.
tcbgirl 0 Posted April 23, 2009 Kelly, I am so sorry to hear about the blood clots. How do you feel now? what is your symptoms ?Can I ask how did the doctor found out ? I am asking because I am in the hospital due to pneumonia. First I thought it is blood clots too but the cat scan showed that I have pneumonia. For your cycle, I think your body need time to adjust after surgery. Give it sometime I think everything will go to normal.
CelticAngel 1 Posted April 23, 2009 Oh sorry to hear you're in the hospital hon. They did a blood test on me that said there was a clot then did a chest CT with the dye that they pump through your veins to find it. Showed it in my lung.
PharmaGirl 0 Posted April 24, 2009 Hey Celtic Angel, Don't think there's a lot that can help bring on a period though an orgasm works for some! I had the opposite problem - my periods are never regular but of course I had to get my period on Wednesday night with surgery scheduled for Thursday. Has made the unpleasantness of the whole thing even more unpleasant!
terelbel 0 Posted April 24, 2009 Hi, I just think it's pure stress and it's putting your hormones off kilter. I'd just try to relax that mind, and you know it will show it's ugly head and like when we were (busy) teenagers you breath a sigh of relief when you see the bogger! CelticAngel 1 Posted April 24, 2009 LOL yes exactly! At this point I'm all but begging for it to start so I won't feel so horribly bloated anymore. I guess I'll just hang in there and hope it finally shows up.
staplegater 0 Posted April 24, 2009 I was banded on Tuesday, 4.21. I actually GOT my period either during surgery or recovery. When the nurses, who only speak spanish, moved me from my recovery bed to the bed in my room, they saw the blood on my gown and were freaking out. I think they wanted to code blue me! I speak a good bit of spanish but could not figure out how to explain to them what had happened. I just kept saying chica and roja and making a downward motion coming out of my nethers. It was very comical but they eventually got it. I swear I said menstruacion but I guess they didnt understand. Then the nurse brought me these giant pads, like the one in the movie Dirty Love, so I said thank you, hid them and sent my mom on a search for tampons.
