sms1964 0 Posted April 23, 2009 I am going through my pre-op testing. Today I had the abdominal ultra-sound, chest x-ray and an upper Gi series. In the GI series the Dr told me he saw a hiatal hernia. I have seen a few things on this and I think that it needs to be repaired prior to - or at the same time the band would be placed on. But am wondering if this lengthens the hospital stay, or recovery time. And how does the insurance porcess handle this? Any one else have this? Any advise would be appreciated!! phatgreenbunny 0 Posted April 23, 2009 I had a suprise hernia repair during my surgery yesterday, it don't think it has changed much in my recovery other than a little extra pain with inspiration.
