Share this list with your church's or anyone you know who know's someone who has been displaced by Hurrican Katrina. You can even list housing if you have space to share.

Click on the red locations with the arrows in the front and rear. These areas were affected by Hurrican Katrina. Click on Housing.

People from diffrent areas of the US have posted listings of temporary housing for people displaced by the Hurricane. The are free or reduced amounts to help house people. Some even offer airfare and jobs.

Also if you want to donate here is a very easy way to do it, Yahoo has teamed up with the Red Cross to make is easier to get through since the Red Cross phone lines are constantly busy. 100% goes to the Hurricane Katrina fund. They need money more then anything right now to get the supplies that are needed to help these people.

We all may not have much to give but we all have more then what they have right now. If each of us just donated 5-10 dollars it will help. Every little bit makes a difference.

I have all ready made a donation and am having a fundraiser at my restaraunt over this 3 day weekend for the Red Cross with cash donations. I know all of my customers will help to make this a success. They all know me and know what kind of heart I have. On Tuesday after the Holiday Weekend I will donate all of the money to the Red Cross

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
