sheavens 9 Posted April 22, 2009 Has anyone ever traveled alone for their surgery and relied on an aftercare nursing service to watch over them for the 24 hour post period? DO you really need someone with you?
RestlessMonkey 7 Posted April 22, 2009 Do you have someone REALLY near by? OR can you just stay overnight in the hospital? Odds are you'll be wonderful but it's that rare instance where something goes wrong. Plus most hospitals won't release you (especially under the influence of narcotics) without someone else to care for you. You won't need physical help so much as just "tending"...a warm body to be there if you start to feel bad, etc. Do you have anyone like that?
sheavens 9 Posted April 23, 2009 I could, but I was thinkin over my options since I have to travel so far.
MissBS 3 Posted April 23, 2009 I know I was told that I had to have someone with me when I had my surgery. Will you be staying in a hotel? Do you have someone to drive you where you need to go (a taxi?) and pick up any prescribed medication that you will need? If you are going to be alone, I would make sure that you know where you can get quick medical treatment if it becomes necessary. I didn't really need any help, but I was glad that I had somone there with me. Good luck to you!! Becky
phatgreenbunny 0 Posted April 23, 2009 I had surgery yesterday and I got a ride home and stayed at home by myself. I didn't need anyone to help me and was glad to be home in my bed and not at the hospital.
