Big & Rich Concert

Recommended Posts

Last night I went to the Big & Rich concert at the Corn Palace here in Mitchell, SD. Myself and another "big" gal I work with took 2 people in wheelchairs. We got front row seats! We were within touching distance from the stage and the group! What an awesome show! They made everyone feel special!

After the show we slipped out a side door. A rather large man himself...no skinny was holding the door open for people. He made the comment as the gal I work with passed by..."She needs a cow bell on her!" I was P.O.ed! I don't think she ever heard the comment and I never mentioned it. But it hurt my feelings as well. If I would have thought quick enough I could have "accidently" rammed him in the leg with the wheelchair I was pushing! Some people are just SO rude and immature.

Unreal! Makes ya wonder whats making HIM so depressed that he has to tear apart a total stranger! Good for you for not taking off a limb or two on your way past him!

UGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH.....I was happy until reading that. It has totally pissed me off. I would send a nasty letter to the establishment and the band telling them about this person and his comment. I would want an apology, free tickets, something. I am sorry you guys had to be exposed to that that that a--hole . JERK

Thanks for all your kind words. I know we have all been there a time or two. No wonder there is so much hate and disrespect in the world.

Talk about your BAD KARMA.

I just try to remember that the person is obviously suffering if they feel the need to lash out at others.

:/

LOL! I did email the director of the Corn Palace where the concert was held. He emailed me back and apologized for that man's comment. He also promised if the man was an employee he would be disciplined. After thinking about it, the man could have been with the carnival or just another concert goer, but anyhow he should not have said what he did! Thanks again to everyone who commented on this thread.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
