GREAT experience with 1st Fill :)

Recommended Posts

I will admit, I was nervous for my first fill after reading bad fill stories. However, I was pleasently surprised to find it to be quick & easy! First my doctor just numbed the area with a small needle then injected 4.8 cc's of saline into my 10 cc band, while he had me drink a glass of Water. The whole process was quick and easy..the worst part is being on liquids for 48 hours! I will be on mushies tomorrow, which is nice...just in time for my 23rd birthday! :w00t:

Just thought I would share a happy fill story! :)

Do you have a lap band or realize band? When were you banded. I go for my first fill on April 30, was banded April 1 with the realize band.

I just had my first fill on Sunday with the Realize Band. It was pretty painless also. I initially got 4cc's but couldn't swallow so he took it down to 3.5. I seem to be doing ok. I am getting fuller faster and am way tighter in the morning. I haven't had any PB'ing experience (yet...knock on wood) so that's good.I already want more though as I haven't seen the scale move yet.

I got my first fill today and it went fine. No pain or anything. However, I forgot to ask how much he put in...Its going to drive me crazy...Maybe I will call tomorrow and ask.

I am 4 weeks post op and I'm going for my first fill in a couple days. He didn't say anything about being on thin liquids afterwards. Is that the way it always is? I hope not. Going to a conference next week and hope I can eat at least SOMETHING normal! LOL

It seems like most surgeons I've seen here say to be on liquids or mushies for a small period of time but others don't. He should tell you at the fill visit but you can always call the office and ask and explain why you're asking. LOL I had to postpone my first fill because I had to go 100 miles away to my cousins 1st birthday party and the next day I had a baby shower. I guess I didn't want to feel stupid or something. LOL

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
