MissChristina 0 Posted April 21, 2009 I'm 5 days post op and I'm feeling a bit shaky. I've been drinking my fluids so I'm not sure why. Could it be the lack of sugar? I was on the pre-op diet for 4 weeks with no sugar/ light carbs and now post op I'm going into the 5th week of the same thing. Are we aloud things like juice? An ice cream milkshake? for the sugar? or no? Or could there be another reason for this weakness feeling?
Makulafamy 55 Posted April 21, 2009 I felt the same way about 5-7 days after surgery. I was supposed to be on liquids for 2 weeks, but I called my doc and he told me I could slowly try full liquids and mushies and I was instantly better. I believe a couple of things are happening (but I am only a doctor in my mind). Bloodsugar and for me...not enough calories! I was only taking in about 350 calories a day...and we need more than that to have energy. I was aloud to have juice right after surgery. They tell you just to avoid the ones that are real acidic (so like oj, until you know your body can handle those). My suggestion is to call your doc and see what they think. --Amy I'm 5 days post op and I'm feeling a bit shaky. I've been drinking my fluids so I'm not sure why. Could it be the lack of sugar? lipstix64 1 Posted April 21, 2009 The reason is hunger- you arent taking in enough calories. Call your doctor for advice. i'm 5 days post op and i'm feeling a bit shaky.
