Hello all. I was banded on April 16th by Dr. Morris Washington....Bayshore Hospital, Holmdel NJ. I do not have my own website or blog, and am only just now checking out this support group. Looks like a good one. I'll appreciate anyhelp I can get. Clear Liquids are getting old fast. :crying:

Hi Diane, welcome to lapbandtalk. I know the progression of foods postop sucks and feels like it will last forever, lol. It won't! Hang in there!! Remember, the reason they don't allow for more substantial food is because they don't want your stomach to move by "digesting" foods. Being on liquids for awhile will give your band time to "scar in". Knowing the reason helped me to tolerate the diet a little better. Good luck!!

Hi there Diane

Welcome and congrats on your surgery. Hope your recovery has been fast and smooth.

There's a forum for all the April bandster's HERE - in case you'd like to share experiences with others of us being banded at around the same time. It's a wonderful place for support.

Also, you've been added to the list of April bandsters HERE.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
