Just curious... how many incisions do you have? I have 6 and that seems like a lot.

Also, I was banded on 3/27 and it seems like my incisions are healing rather bumpy. Does that mean that I am making a lot of scar tissue or is it normal and they will eventually flatten out?

I have one incision that is 2", where the port is; another that is about 1"; and 3 "poke holes". All the poke holes were "lumpy" at first but I'm just over 2 months post-op and they are flat now. I have a friend who has an addition incision and another who has a 4th "poke hole", so I'm thinking you're typical.

2 poke holes, 2 incisions that are 1 inch and 1 that is about 2 inches. That's where my port is and also where they repaired my hiatal hernia at.

I have 5 total (also had hiatal hernia repair). Three are small and two are large. One looks like the surgeon made the stitches to tight and it's sunken in. Like when your sewing and you pull the thread to tight and material gets bunched up. Yuck!! Anyone else had that? Hope it flattens out. Made he let a resident do it.

i have 5 scars, the one for the port is the largest. of the 5 scars, 3 are "bumpy". i asked my doctor if anything could be done and he said no, they were keloid scars. it's been 1 year since my surgery and they're still "bumpy".:crying:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
