carbgrl 0 Posted April 19, 2009 I'm 6 days post op -15 lbs lost. I just tried on my jeans that fit before the 2wk pre-op diet and surgery and they're too tight now. It would've hurt to try and button them. Am I that bloated????? Anyone else have this problem? Anyone able to wear jeans immediatedly?
YngGram 73 Posted April 19, 2009 I was heavier coming out of the hospital than going in. My take on it is 1. They pump in gas for surgery. 2. Body builds up Fluid as part of the healing process. It took me about 2 weeks for things to settle back down. Also you slid up a little when you start on mushy and soild foods.
ParrotheadCathy 0 Posted April 19, 2009 They pump your abdominal cavity full of gas at the start of surgery to give them a little more room to work it. It has to be absorbed by your body and disposed of in urine. Give it a little time.
lynmcg 9 Posted April 19, 2009 HI, I also had this problem. I think it took around 3 weeks for my system to settle down. When I first tried on my pants I was so discouraged I could have cried. Two weeks later I figured what the heck I'll give it another try and see what happens. Well, they fit with a little room to spare. Thank God. So, be patient and it will happen for you also. Best of Luck to you.

pottergirl 0 Posted April 20, 2009 I couldn't get into jeans for over 2 weeks...now they're sliding off of my rear! I can't keep them up! I am 7 days post-op and 15 pounds lighter since the day of surgery.....my jeans still fit the same, I've .lost weight everywhere, so I figure it's still the gas....hopefully!! I'm going to have a skinny body and huge stomach one day if not!
