Calling all who had surgery in MEXICO

Recommended Posts

:tt1: Hi! I am looking for a good surgeon in Mexico. I am interested in the "medical tourism" program. Anyone have their procedure done with Dr. Arturo Rodriguez from Monterrey, Mexico. Thanks

Hello...I was banded on April 16 with Dr. Pompa of the LIMARP clinic...it was great!! They are wonderful there, and the price was right. Excellent service and facilities!!

I was recently banded in Tijuana at Hospital Angeles with Dr. Lopez-Corvala through World Med. The staff was so nice, attentive and helpful. The hospital was clean, safe and professional. I had an easy recovery in my private room.

Good luck!

I was banded in Tijuana, Mexico by Dr. Lopez Corvala. It was a good experience. The hospital was immaculate and the care was excellent. I have no regrets. My only suggestion is to do it directly through the hospital. The scheduling services charge about $500 more than the actual surgeon does. They make a commission on providing you with a service you really don't need. I was provided with transportation to and from the hospital and airport and was treated better than any hospital here in the states has. If you need any further info feel free to let me know. Good luck with whatever choice you make.

I was banded in Tijuana by Dr. Ariel Ortiz. It was clean and the people were professional and I liked the doctor. I also went through WorldMedAssist to start but can't really remember how I ended up with Dr. Ortiz, except I have his book and did some research on him. Not a bad experience.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
