I'm so confused...

My instructions for week 2 (which I am starting today) is to eat "pureed, all foods are blended, baby food consistency, and thin enough to pour off a spoon."

Then week 3 and 4 is

"Mechanical soft-food that is mashed with a fork, or food you could eat if you did not have teeth."

So......all the mushy food suggestions seem to be mechanical soft.

What can I eat for pureed besides Soup and cream of wheat? I was eating the non Clear liquids since last Wednesday, so I'm past the pudding, Jello, yogurt, cream blended soup stage...but to what??

Any help would be appreciated!

U can make any food into pureed--from what I'v learned on here. just add some liquid of choice--no Vodka lol--to make it the right consistency. There are lots of threads on this subject. sorry that's all i know for now. Good Luck and Congrats on being banded.

I have lived on Re-fried Beans and cheese all melted with a little taco sauce, mashed potatoes, yogurt, Soup, fresh smoothies etc.

I have also gotten spaghettis sauce in a bowl wtih cheese and nuke it for a few-

I made taco's the other night and blended everything (minus the shells) and it was great!

Creem cheese melted wtih salsa and cheese-

Cottage cheese-

I have eaten more cheese in the last 3 weeks than I have in my life- Hope this helps!

Just be careful with that pureed/blender stuff. I'm often surprised at some of the ingrededients that people have listed on their soft foods/mushie recipes. "If you can drink it through a straw" is one of the common quotes I see. Well... you can put a Snickers bar in a blender with a bit of milk and make it where it will fit through a straw.... but..... Makes me wonder sometimes :tt1: Good luck!!! Becky

I added some pureed vegetables to my chicken stock, pureed tomatoes to my beef stock...that sort of thing. Pureeing whatever rings your chimes is an EXCELLENT way to eat around the band and not lose an ounce. And if I want the taste of a Snickers bar, well I do have a stash of liquer called Nutz 'n Rum....tastes just like a Snickers bar washed down with rum, LOL. Funny, I never did like to actually EAT a Snickers bar but sometimes a little of that stuff tastes so good.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
