Two questions--PB and swelling

Recommended Posts

Hi! Could you please tell me what PBing means?

Also, I was wondering if it is normal to have swelling in the morning, so much that even warm Water has a hard time going down. Most of the time by the afternoon I'm okay, but since my last fill of 4/8, I'm not able to eat as many solid Proteins as I think I should.

Sure, PBing is productive burp. Its different than throwing up. For me, if I eat too fast or something get stuck...it take about 5 minutes before I PB. Its almost like your slobber cant go down, and it starts filling up your throat until you "produce" it back up...usually in a slimy foamy form thats really stretchy! Gross huh?:)

Up towards the top of the screen is a link to the FAQ's. There is a dictionary of terms you will read on here. That helped me when I was first starting!

I asked my doc if he had a theory about people saying they are tighter in the morning. He says he hears that a lot but does not have a medical explanation.

Hope that helps..

Amy

Hi. When I PB, the actual food that I just ate - that can't go down (whether it be too big of a bite, not chewing enough, not waiting, or a food that is not agreeing with my band at that time) comes back up. I agree with Amy - it is not really throwing up .... no picnic, but not as bad.

I just got a fill Wednesday and my band is REALLY tight now. I've always been tighter in the mornings, but today I PB'd coffee - YIKES!!! I was better by lunchtime, but it's going to take some getting used to. Good luck to you and take care!! Becky

Thank you! When I try to explain what happens to food that gets stuck to a non-bander, I never knew the term (it's not vomiting, not really regurgitating, etc). Now I know what to call it!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's band is tighter in the morning. I thought that either it was too filled, or I was doing something wrong. Someone suggested drinking warm Water before anything else.

I PB coffee in the morning. No fun!

Becky, have you had any problems at night? I had to go get an unfill this morning.

Good luck to you!!
