pinkblue05 0 Posted April 17, 2009 I was looking up insurance things and came across this forum! I am 21 and have a son who is 16 months old. My hubby is active duty army. I am wanting to lose weight, I have tried everything, but with my food allergies I swell up when ever I eat things I am allergic to. I also retain Water when this happens. I was, and still am, really active. I was put on depo provera when I was younger and I gained 50 lbs in the 3 years. Then I got off of it and got pregnant and gained 50 more pounds, after I had my son I did everything to lose the weight, did not help. I was also back on the depo shot. I am not off of it and about to lose some weight, but much of what I put on. I have asthma, always have, and the pollens down here make it hard to breath, so I have to work out inside(not fun) I always thought Tricare did not cover the lap-band, I am glad they do(no matter how strict). I am planning on having another baby soon, and if I am not pregnant in the next few months I will just start on doing this. Well I will be on now and then to learn about new things before I decide to go ahead with the lapband.
bugginbri 0 Posted April 17, 2009 I have heard that Tricare is tough also however my experience was the opposite. I am a AF wife. I was 100 lbs overweight after having three kids. I have a huge family history of diabetes and had gestational diabetes in my last pregnancy. I got my referral in August 2008 and was banded by the end of October 2008. I did not have major hoops to jump through. I wasn't required to see a psychologist. I only had a few tests and that was it along with my surgeons diet requirements. Good luck!
