BigMomma -

Thanks to your post I was able to get away from daily weigh-ins. My main weigh in day is Wed and to be honest I still weigh on Saturday, - midweek, just to make sure something crazy hasn't happened, but I had my first fill 2 weeks ago and am beginning to have faith in the process, so I see myself weighing only on Wed before long. I don't journal anything. I do keep an idea of my calories and Protein in my head, but to be honest I know about what I'm eating each day and while my food choices vary from day to day, I'm still eating about the same amount of Protein, etc., so even that is a mute point.

It feels awesome not to be chained to a journal, etc any longer. And weighing only 2 times a week is a victory for me!!! Baby steps.... soon only weighing on Wed.

Thanks again!

Big Papa,

Thank you for starting this post. Congratulations on your weight loss and your determination to stick with your new lifestyle.

I was banded back in December 2008. I started reading the forums around that same time. I vividly remember a very touching thread you posted regarding enjoying Christmas with your children - playing with them, running around. It was really touching. It got me looking forward to the same increased activity levels and zest for life.

Congratulate yourself on how far you've traveled in this journey and in the new habits you've developed.

Yes, you really have done a awesome job! I was just recently banded and every time I see a mirror I get into "Biggest Loser Mode". I am not even suppose to exercise yet, well besides walking. But I can still totally relate to the obsession to lose.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
