Ok, so this all may have been covered before, but I'll ask anyways....I am set to be banded on 5-8, and right now I am hovering around 400. Per my BMI, I may be looking at a goal of over 200 pounds lost. So, my question is, does this mean absolute certanty that I will have hanging skin issues? Is there any way to prevent or lessen the problem as I lose the weight?

Thanks in advance for the info...

hey there.. I am definetly not an expert so this is just my 2 cents.. I have lost 122 pounds and I do have some loose skin, yes enough that I will need to have some surgery. When I was at my heaviest I thought how gross is that, loose skin bleck.. I would rather be fat.. but honestly now that I am here, I would much rather have loose skin.. with clothes on I think I look pretty good. Without not so much but honey without clothes before I lost the weight.. BAHHHH.. so I have changed my mind. So if some loose skin is worrying you, I would recommend you look forward to it :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
