Overeating, pains and fills - please help

Recommended Posts

I had my 3rd fill last week. Everytime I eat, the first few bites give me a little pain and I continue eating after it passes in a minute or two. I read this as signs that I have not learned yet to eat slowly and chew.

My other issue is near the end of my meal, I get the same pain. This time I stop eating. Am I getting the 2nd pain because it is the sign that I have eaten more than enough and my stomach is telling me so? Am I too tight? Is this normal? Does anyone have any thoughts?

THANK YOU!

I would guess you are too tight. I was just in, today, for a small unfill. he removed .8 of a cc and now that ugly pain is gone. The fullness is still here, but that pain is gone. I could have my 1/2 bowl of Soup. Yesterday, not even throwing it in the blender helped, it hurt so bad. Everything was so painful to try to get down, even going slow, chewing, and very small bites.....just didnt go it.

Remember, it is not suppose to hurt.....you should be able to manage the mental hunger and be able to reach fullness with sm portions.

I would say, you need to have a small amt removed.

I am so glad I kept my appt today, it was a long 4 weeks. good luck, keep us posted.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
