Dr. Jose Antonio Castaneda???

Recommended Posts

I am trying to get banded before the end of the summer and am searching for a Dr. in Mexico. I was leaning towards Ortiz, but have a friend of a friend who is the niece (yes...I know how this sounds) of a surgeon in Cd. Juarez that performs Lap Bands, but I cannot find anything on him.

Does anyone know about Dr. Jose Castaneda? I've been through the border in Juarez before and would probably be more comfortable there than in TJ...but am trying to conduct as much research as possible. Any information...good or bad would be great.

Hi, I do not know this one , but i went ot one in mexicali. His name is Alberto Aceves. I could sit here and type a big long thing about how great they where but you need to make your own decision.

In my opinion though they where very caring and knew what they where doing. I had a great time and everyone was nice.

Also one more thing to concider. They say the border is getting ruff in some places but as far as i know its still safe where there.

there web page is mexicolapband.com I think they have reduced their prices also so thats a plus.

If you need to know any futher details on them please let me know I will be happy to tell you about the whole experience!! I have lost 130 pounds since last feb. I am very happy with them.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
