i do not have a sweet tooth...my problem was portions and carbs...last night i got home and my mom had made a chocolate cake...i cut a piece for my son ....and i was so tempted 2 eat some...i stopped dead in my tracks and talked to myself about it...lol...i said "carolan u r in a size 12!!!!!!!"...is a piece of cake worth risking bad habits again????? do u honestly think its going to taste that good"...i put the cake down....lol...ur will to lose weight has to b stronger than a simple piece of candy...dont beat urself up about it...just look at it and remember it did nothing positive 4 u but taste good for a few minutes...ur doing great!!!!!!! keep it pushing!!!!!!!!

Say to yourself....Easter is over and I indulged a little, but now I am getting back on track. It's not the end of the world, heck jellybeans are fat free (but no don't start eating them all the time!!)

I gave into the candy temptations myself just this afternoon.....I ate a (only 1) Reese's Peanutbutter Cup....I sat it down on my desk and gave myself about 30mins to decide if I REALLY wanted it....well I did!!

I looked up all the nut. info and added it to my daily intake....it was 88 cals...and I called it my afternoon snack....even with the Reese's I'm under 600 cals so far for the day....but trust me.....I WILL NOT be eating one again anytime soon!!! (that is a once in a while treat, not an everyday indulgance)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
