I have been wondering this myself. It seems as though popcorn is tolerated like breads. From what I have seen, some can and some can't (as with many things). There is always somebody in my office popping popcorn midday and it always smells so good. I am waiting a few more weeks before I even give it a try though (only 4 weeks out now). Good luck.

Rachel

I eat popcorn all the time, but I am also not that restricted. I don't want my band tight. I like being able to eat most things.

I can eat popcorn, but I have a hard time eating bread, but popcorn doesn't get stuck (for me), now bread is a different story.lol. I am not at my sweet spot yet.

I can eat popcorn but it does fill me up real fast. I used to be able to eat a whole 100 cal mini bag but now it is difficult for me to do so. Be smart and stay away from that movie theatre stuff. That fatty stuff greatly contributed to a long plateau I had a while back.

Prior to my fourth fill, I was able to eat an entire bag of popcorn. However, I am unable to eat that much now. Popcorn is tolerable, but bread is not.

Ditto for me. I had popcorn last night with no problem but some types of bread, nope. I go for my third fill tomorrow and am hoping to hit my sweet spot then...at least I hope so.:)

I havent' reached my sweet spot. Hopefully tomorrow. popcorn works just fine, So does bread for that matter. Especially the cheddar popcorn from Universal Studios (I stay away from that as much as possible, but sometimes I need a treat). The 100 calorie mini bags are great for an evening snack after dinner but before bed.

My nutritionist said popcorn is a "slider food". Which, trust me, I didn't need to know. Can eat as much as I want, but don't!:)

Yes -- last time I went to the movies, it wasn't a problem! I didn't eat a lot, but I had enough so that I enjoyed it.

Most breads aren't working for me though. I can eat a bit of the crust of a hard roll, but that's about it! I consider that to be a good thing though!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
