Hi Everyone!! Iam on my 5th day of clear liquid diet get banded on the 22nd and I have been having terrible cravings for like potatoe chips or something salty. Has anyone else had these cravings or am I just weird?:tongue_smilie:I have also been having dizzy spells and leg cramps. I am just wondering if these things are normal. The only thing I can have is 3 Slimfast optima, clear broth, SF Jell-o, Decaf Tea with splenda, Crystal light, and SF popsicles. I have 9 more days and Iam bound and determining to make it through this phase w/out cheating. My DH is very surprised that I have not cheated but that makes me more determined not to cheat just to prove to him I can do this!!

Call your doc on monday. You may need something with some electrolytes in it (because of the leg cramps)...let him know about your symptoms.

Otherwise just hang in there! You are doing fine!

Hello Bobbie72

I am on my forth day of my liquid deit and also will be banded on the same day as you. I have been having the same problem that you are having, but you can have a little bit more things in your diet than I can. I did cheat a little , not bad just 5 ruffle chips for the salt (no salt in veggies just pepper or lemon juice) and the skin off of the chichen thigh that my daughter had. My diet is as followed.:(

Meal Plan for Liquid Diet:

Breakfast:

1 Atkins Advantage shake (160 Calories)

Lunch:

1 Atkins Advantage Shake (160 Calories)

1 Cup of Cooked Green Veggies or 2 Cups of Raw Green Veggies (50 Calories)

1 Cup of chicken broth (10 Calories)

Dinner

1 Atkins Advantage Shake (160 Calories)

1 Cup of Cooked Green Veggies or 2 Cups of Raw Green Veggies (50 Calories)

1 Cup of Beef Broth (10 Calories)

Good luck

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
