I am sorry so many are haveing port problems! I must be a really strange cookie! I have not had any port pain. Mine is on my right side about 3 inches under my breast :). I have slept on that side since the 3rd night after my surgery. What is really weird is that it is more uncomfortable to sleep on my left side! But that is getting better every night.

I hope everyone heals fast!

D:lol:

I'm happy for you that you're not having port problems. Mine is on the left side about 2 inches from my belly button & about an inch below my last rib.

To all of those with problems I wish you the very best.

For all of you without them, I hope you will continue with your success & be in good health & spirits.

Hi everyone,

I am not sure where my port is? I guess it is where I have the largest incision, under my left breast. It feels hard and is very unconfortable when I bend over towards that direction. I have several small incisions, because of my Tummy Tuck back in 04. Dr. said he had to modifify some things becuz of the tightend muscles due to the tummy tuck. Not sure what he really meant. I have a total of of 5 incisions. One is a few inches in width which I am assuming is the port entrance, the others are much smaller. Let me know about your incisions please. I was banded in Juarez Mexico, by Dr. Natera, on April 27, 2009. Just 6 days ago. He, the hospital staff and the Hospital were amazing. ;)

! was banded on April 16 and my port is in about the same place - not where I thought it would be. It was the only place I had any bruising or soreness really. But most of that is gone now. You should be fine in another few days. Christita

I had my surgery on 1/14/09 and my port is about 1-2" below my left breast. Even though it's higher then where most of you folks seem to have yours--I did have pain when bending over for the first three months. It got better and better as time went by.

I know it's there, and it twinges with pain occastionally, but for me at least the majority of the pain has finally gone away.

I hope all of you feel a lot better with some time passing too.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
