Danmo 0 Posted April 12, 2009 I was banded on the week of 3/24 and I feel great. I've lost 16 pounds and while I did hit some rough spots there in the middle of the second week I feel great. I do have to say that the diet my nutritionist gave me is very strict so I've been going outside of the list and included Tofu on this third week and have to say that the increase in Protein has really made me feel better. I'd like to hear from anyone who was banded that week and is about to start on their 4th week of the post op diet.
kathyv 0 Posted April 12, 2009 I was banded 3/23 and based on my surgeon's nutrition information I am on pureed foods. I tired to blend some things but really couldn't get it down. I'm sticking to things like eggs (egg salad, deviled eggs, scrambled), refried Beans, mashed potatoes, chicken salad, tuna salad. I just make sure I chew, chew, chew and don't eat too much and I haven't had any problems so far.
luv2bme 0 Posted April 12, 2009 I was banded on 3/25 and doing well now. The first week was difficult due to the location of my incisions and infection, but overall my progress has been good. As far as diet, my nutritionist moved me to blended solids and my doc wants me eating solids prior to my next follow up appointment in a month. On my liquid diet, I was having major difficulty getting 800 calories a day but protien supplements worked well. I hit just below 200 2 days ago...woooohooooo!!! Total weight loss since surgery has been 16 pounds now. Seems slow, but difficult due to pre-op exercise routine so not much Fluid to lose after surgery. I can't wait to pick up on the exercise again. Feeling a bit lost with only walking. Keep in touch, I would love to hear how you both progress along your journey also. Happy Easter!!!!
