mslittle 1 Posted April 12, 2009 Do any you in the DFW area know which restaurants are band-friendly? I understand if it is against policy to let an adult order off the kids menu, but it sure would be nice to order small portions. I'm not crazy about taking food home and sometimes not in a position to do so. I would appreciate your input.
LisaRT 0 Posted April 13, 2009 I'm not at DFW but if you explain to the waiter/waitress they usually willlet you order off the kids menu. Also, when I'm with my husband he orders a large plate and I share with him. Lisa
josephine 1 Posted April 13, 2009 MsLittle, There are many restaurants that allow you to eat off the childrens menu but may upcharge you $1.00. You may show your banded card to Sweet Tomatoes and they will charge you the children's price which is $4.95. The Keg Restaurant, Denny's, Chili's, Outback Steak House, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel, Applebees, and Golden Corral. All of these allow you to eat off of the the childrens menu or will just upcharge you just a bit. Just remember though not to get angry in case they don't only because it is our choice how much we newly began to start eating. You can even ask if they have half orders too. With my husband I won't share a meal with him but sometimes I ask him to ask for an add on of something and I will get a side of something else. purplekat 0 Posted April 13, 2009 Another choice would be to order off the appetizer or salad menu. You could also order off the side menu or the ala carte menu. I appreciate the info onthe restaurants that allow you to order off the kids menu.
maryrose 2 Posted April 13, 2009 Crackerbarrel is pretty good. They have tons of side orders. We went there today and I ordered 1 pancake and a side order of hashbrowns. I was only able to have a few bites, but I didn't feel overwhelmed with all this food in front of me. They always have a Soup and a lot of good veggie sides you can order. They even have applesauce. The have a sugar free apple pie and sugar free ice cream topping. I had that once, it was pretty good.
mslittle 1 Posted April 14, 2009 Thanks for the good info. I was at Cracker Barrel this am and they very nice about me ordering off the kid's menu. I'm looking forward to going to the other places and getting a more reasonable portion. Maybe the waiters won't come by and ask me"Is everything alright?" if I don't look so overwhelmed at this giant plate of food! The bad part is, I could haven't eaten the WHOLE THING before my band. Unbelieveable!
