Sending Prayers

Recommended Posts

I am sending prayers to all of you in the path of Hurricane Katrina.

I was scheduled to speak in New Orleans this week and just cancelled all my reservations this morning.

I hope you all evacuate and get out of harms way.

Thoughts and Prayers are with You'll.

Barbara

Yes! I'm so glad that you posted this. I was thinking of my dear Paula and all of the other wonderful LBTers here who live in that area.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all, and may the Lord watch over all of you and keep you all safe and protected!

Kelly I was just thinking about Paula this morning. I hope they are ok. I will send up prayers of protection for all of them.

My daughter in Florida didn't get much of anything other than some hard rain. THen it skipped into the gulf and picked up steam and force. It is a category 5 now with winds at 175 MPH.

HUGE prayers. They are evacuating New Orleans. MORE PRAYERS!!!

Hi all! Thanks so much for asking...

At this point, we are safe from this one! *phew*

N.O. is about 3 1/2 hours east of us, so we are quite a distance from this gigantic storm.

Right now we are actually getting only goodness from it - low humidity and steady breezes, with lots of HEAT!

We have a friend that is a big-wig at the newest casino/hotel in our area. He was called into work today to make extra accomidations for all the evacuee's that were arriving.

Funny how the casino's here are filled tonight and the church's remain empty.

Something about that thought scares me.

Thank You GOD!!!!

So happy you fine Paula- I agree that is a strange thought about the casinos & churches. Maybe because they are newer with more structual features. Plus the size. It is strange though ;0)

So glad that you are all ok Paula! I thought about trying to call you, but decided against it - just because I didn't know if you would all be gone or not.

Hopefully everyone else from LBT is safe and sound. Those storms sure are nothing to mess with!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
