Not too thrilled since my second fill...

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I had my second fill almost 3 weeks ago . I'm only down 3 pounds since then and on top of that ,when I eat ,it feels difficult at time(uncomfortable). Is this what they mean by bandster hell ? Is this normal ? How can I get back to my faster weight loss?

Any suggestions would be great. I'm pretty bummed out about it. I've lost 60 pounds in a years time but only 30 since the banding back in November.

Have any of you experianced this ? Should I go back to a more liquid diet?

Only two fills in over 4 months? I've had 2 since surgery on February 10 and another one scheduled for the end of April. I'm thinking maybe you need to make an appointment for another fill much sooner than the time between the last two.

Remember that your band is a tool, and it is telling you something. It is an ally in your weight loss struggle. If you occassionally feel pain, is it because you took too big a bite, or because that particular food no longer agrees with you?

Sometimes I feel like my band is "scolding" me - but I have a lifetime of bad habits, and the not-so gentle reminder I get is necessary.

30 pounds is nothing to sneeze at. Visualize 30 pounds of butter - that's what you have lost.

I get frustrated sometimes because my weight loss is slow. BUT - I am also changing. I know I must do that to be successful in the long run.

Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
