BandedMarch2009 0 Posted April 7, 2009 Hey! Not bad 28lbs down post-op. No restriction and can eat ANYTHING!!! I have my first physicians appointment tomorrow. I don't know if I'll get a fill or not cos I have been having a strange feeling of pressure in my oesophegus (sp?) and throat which (very strangely) comes and goes and especially goes when I eat!!! (what's all that about?) I've been REALLY exhausted in the last week- I went back to work 4 days post-op and now I wonder if it was too soon. How are you going? zwordz 0 Posted April 7, 2009 BM09, Im feeling fine, I had LOA up to the 13th, but I had scheduled vaca. till the 19th. I return to work on the 20th. I knew that I should get some time to recover so that I would be able to work without any ill effects. I have maintained this weight (295lbs) for about a week, Im just waiting for the incisions to heal a bit better before I get to do some more rigorus excercises. I will be going to the pool today to see if I can take that. I really want to start riding bike. Im looking forward to the stage 3 then 4 diets, right now Im blenderizing everything, and Im getting tired of doing that. I know it helps but geez, Im so limited to what I can eat, I still get hunger pains. The dr, told me I have to be on solids for a while before I can get the band inflated, yet another reason to move up the stages. Ill be ok I suppose, I have a good support group to help me. Keep me posted on your progress. Ben
jagband 0 Posted April 7, 2009 Hey there! Not only are we "twins" but we are the same age:smile2:. Five weeks tomorrow - can't believe it! Doing well - so far I have lost 23 pounds (as of a week ago) and feel great! I am having a hard time getting motivated to exercise, any tips? Hope you have a good visit with the doc. My next appointment is the 30th when I may/may not get a fill... we'll see.
BandedMarch2009 0 Posted April 7, 2009 Hey JagBand Yeaye! I found my twin!!!! Are you on solids yet? I'm tolerating solids so I figured, why not? I've not been doing much exercise at all - I am so bad!!! I try to walk with the dog and do some incidental exercise at work, walking around the corridors and up and down the stairs. Keep me updated, twin! BM09:wub:
BandedMarch2009 0 Posted April 8, 2009 So I had my 1st fill today and it was a piece of cake...hardly felt a thing. Apparently I had 1.6 in my size 10 band already and the Dr added another 2.4 to take me up to 4. I've got significant restriction now and could only eat about 1/2 cup for lunch (that was at 1pm and it's 5pm now and I'm not even starting to get peckish). I have another appt in 3 weeks to see how this fill is working for me. Also, that yucky feeling of pressure in my chest and throat has completely vanished (after I had the fill...how strange!!!) letsgetitstarted 0 Posted April 8, 2009 Hi, I was also banded on March 4th. I'm down 24lbs:thumbup:. I'm still on mushies going to soft foods this weekend. I'm currently in India on a 5 week assignment (talk about difficulties finding food) and will have my 1st fill (hopefully) on May 1st. I've been pretty good about eating 900-1100 calories a day and have been exercising 4-5 days a week. I was pretty active to begin with, so will need to up the time and intensity in order to receive the real benefit. I have had no restriction that I know of, but I have not pushed things much. Lets keep in touch:smile2:
jagband 0 Posted April 8, 2009 Okay, so I am down 27lbs. as of yesterday... Oh yeah! I will enjoy riding this wave for now because I know the weight loss will slow. Yes, I have been on soft solids since 2 weeks post-op and have had no problems. So about the first fill, what did your doc base the decision to fill on? Was it the restriction you feel? My doc says that some people do not need a fill right away, so I am curious. Glad to hear it was not bad to have done. Its crazy how you can feel such a difference! We have so much in common: banded on the same day, same age, AND we weighed within a pound of each other starting out:laugh:.
jagband 0 Posted April 8, 2009 BM09 and letsgetitstarted: I sent a "friend" request to you two so that it would be easy to find each other to keep each other updated. Since I am new to lapbandtalk I am not sure what the difference is between "contact" and "friend" status so I just picked friend. letsgetitstarted, how did you get that weight tracker bar thing on your profile? ~jagband
letsgetitstarted 0 Posted April 9, 2009 Hi, to get the ticker, just double click on mine and it should take you to the website. Else, here is the link Weight Loss - Diet Ticker You then add this to the signature in your profile.
