abrightfuture 0 Posted August 27, 2005 :cheeky Today is my one month anniversary!!!!!! Was banded on 7/27 and I cant believe Ive lost a wopping 20lbs!!! I cant remember when was the last time I lost this much. Being a bandster has been one of the wisest decisions I have ever done in my life. Im beginning to actually see the results. Theres a part of me that Im struggling with though, I almost feel guilty to feels so good, so right. Is this stupid or what? Anyway, when I had my post op visit my doctor (Dr Montgomery @ NWWLS) said he wouldnt consider a fill until 6 weeks post op and only if I need it. Well, how do I know if I need one? What is the criteria? I havent been under any restrictions, food wise, in fact they said this has been my time to heal. But I have been watching what I eat and have stayed away from the high calorie foods but having been trying different things - even salad. The other thing is am having trouble with knowing when im full. Its hard to remember when that is. Should I be eating more often thru the day and small stuff or get into the 3 meals a day and 1 snack. As usual looking for your wisdom and experience. Have found one thing that has got me this far is the support and comfort as well as what others have gone thru. Couldnt have made it. Wait to here from you Micki

txbldhnds 0 Posted August 27, 2005 Hi Micki! Congratulations on your success! I was banded the week before you and went in for my checkup Thursday--I've lost 26 lbs and feel great! I told my dr (Spivak in Houston) that I wasn't feeling as full as I did in the beginning and he gave me a fill right then and there (1.5cc). I didn't really feel a big difference until today. I don't feel bad at all, but do have the full feeling again. The lap-band is the best thing to come into my life in a long time. I fianlly real some sense of control. I only regret I didn't do it sooner. Keep up the good work! Colleen
chichigirl 1 Posted August 27, 2005 Congradulations to both of you!!!! Sounds to me like you both know exactly what to do or else you wouldn't have been so successful already. If what you're doing is working so well, continue as you have been, you'll know when it's time for you to change things. I can't think of anyone that has regretted getting banded. It was the best thing for me and obviously for both of you as well. It truly is a tool to give us the control, which is truley what we needed. You are both an inspiration and a reminder of why we have taken this path. I wish everyone continued success and good health always.
