Why can I eat so much!!!!

Recommended Posts

First off I wanted to ask a question. My Dr told me my band is empty and they dont fill it until 6 weeks post op. I just started mushies but feel like I can eat like I did before the banding:eek:

I have no restriction. Is this normal???

alot of people feel no restriction before they get fills. it is totally normal. i happen to have restriction without having had a fill. i am 2 weeks post op and i can only eat 1/2 cup of food at a time, if i eat more i feel ill.

don't worry once u get ur fill (or a few fills) you'll have the restriction you'll need.

good luck,

amy

There's your answer and yes it's normal, although some surgeons do put a fill in during surgery, most do not

I didn't feel restriction until my 4th fill. Until then I ate fairly normally.

I'm feeling ya! I am 5 weeks post-op and I had my first fill yesterday. I feel fine. I was only able to eat up to 8 oz of food, but I started to get very hungry before my fill, I also ate 6 times a day. But I lost 13 lbs. So don't worry about it. The change will come. But something I noticed was that because I felt normal, I was eating to fast so I slowed way down, and that helped. I take half and hour to eat a meal. And the full switch comes on.

i was banded on 2-24. i was the same way. felt very little restriction and had a hard time not pigging out. i know its hard but try to stick to the post-op diet. but dont beat yourself up if you mess up. i ended up really down on myself cuz of the over eating. i had my 1st fill on friday(thank god) and finally feel some restriction. just tought it out and it will get better eventually
