Ok So i had surgery on Tuesday:) Well, whenever i take the narcotic it was making me super dizzy and nautious so now im trying to just do tylenol and its doing the same. My forehead is even tingly... I feel like i cant concentrate.. and just really weired.

Is that normal?

I am super weak, but I think that has to do with no food really...

Yesterday my deit changed to the thicker liquids and i ate :

B 1/4 c cream of wheat

L 1/4 c Broccoli V8 Soup

D 1/4 c Potato Soup

Today I have had

B 1/4 c Grits (those are actually tasty)

My hubby thinks the food intake is why ifeel so light headed.. and dizzy.. Well this is my menu for the next 2 weeks.

Did anyone else feel this way?

I'd call your doctor. Maybe you are having a bad reaction to the painkiller.

Also, from what you wrote about eating I would suggest you add a lot more Protein to your diet. There are yogurt smoothie things from Danon. You could get a Protein shake too. I believe you are supposed to have about 50g of Protein a day!

I am almost 4 weeks out and I get light-headed when I haven't had enough protein.

Also, are you drinking enough Water? If you aren't a big Water drinker, add propel (flavored and low in calories) or diet snapple to your intake.

Good luck!

Thank you Rebecca, I will go get some of that yogurt stuff and try it for lunch. Our drs dont want us doing Protein shakes. In fact the only time we end up back on Protein is when we are on stage 3, mushies, then that is ALL we are basically allowed.

There is this Protein powder im thinking of picking up you add it to ur meals.. im thinking ill go dish out hte 40 for it now, since i wanna feel better.

Thank you

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
