TopTier 0 Posted June 22, 2009 My doctor told me that he wouldn't be using any staples which I'm terribly happy about! I didn't know I was allergic to them until they used them in my lower back surgery! Yikes! That was a mess.
phenry 0 Posted June 22, 2009 This site is so informational and who knows better than the ones who have been through it! I can't imagine going in to this surgery almost blind...as far as what to expect. What a wonderful asset!
phenry 0 Posted June 22, 2009 well...I got staples. Don't know why, but it stinks because I can't shower for 2 weeks. Yikes...no wonder everyone leaves the room when I enter. Kidding...I do sponge bathe but it isn't the same.
Corliss 0 Posted June 22, 2009 Thanks, I keep walking, and it works. What do you mean after the plastics tomorow? Mandie Mandie, I was supposed to have plastic surgery today, but i broke out in a rash, probably due to nerves. The PS wife is a dermatologist and she saw me this morning and okayed me having it tommorrow. So I will be having my face lift and arms done tommorrow around noon. Mandie 0 Posted June 23, 2009 Need advice. I was banded on the 17th with the Realize Band, it is now almost a week later, I have a mass pain on my right side all the time, when I go from laying down to sitting up it's like a major pains in my stomach and along my right side, when I go from sitting up to standing up it is like I have to do it bent forward very slowly to get myself all the way up, there is still alot of pain when I do that, but not as much as there would be if I was to stand up in a hurry. Has anyone else experienced this? It hurts to walk or anything, but it is almost a week out and I have been reading most of these pains should be gone by now. TopTier 0 Posted June 23, 2009 I dunno. everyone heals differently. It could still be some trapped gas/air bubbles. Or it could just be soreness. But my first response is: don't hesitate to contact your surgeon's office and ask. They can probably clarify it pretty quickly or let you know if it's something they need to see you for. ChrisNYC 0 Posted June 23, 2009 Good luck to everyone getting banded tomorrow including myself.
phenry 0 Posted June 24, 2009 Good luck Chris and TopTier! I would call the surgeons office just to be safe Mandie. Once you explain your symptoms to them, they will better know what it might be and how serious it is. No need to take any chances!
Mandie 0 Posted June 24, 2009 I contacted my surgeons office this afternoon and the nurse said that the surgeon was in surgery all day, but would page her and see what she says, so a couple hours later Erin calls me back, she said that the dr said I just had surgery and it will get better, well, no f'n kidding I just had surgery. She also said if I don't feel any better to come in first thing in the morning, well, that is what I am going to do just to be safe and see the dr for myself. This pain I am having I don't think it is normal. So off to the surgeons office first thing in the morning.
