I feel sick after drinking too quickly. Maybe your sips were too big or too close together?

The nausea may be from the anesthesia. The watery bms I had for the first week. I just figured it was the "water in, Water out" reason. It could've also been from the New Whey Protein bullets. Did the doc prescribed anything for you nausea? You don't want to actually begin vomiting. That would be really bad.

Sorry that you're feeling nauseated. I went through the same thing last week after my surgery. My doc gave me phenergan suppositories which helped a lot. I had to stop taking the liquid hydrocodone pain med because I think that was adding to the nausea.

Hope you feel better!

I had my surgery on Thursday (today is Saturday). I have dry mouth and have been sipping Water. I am nauseated as well and my doc prescribed phenergan suppositories and they worked. I have a burning sensation in my chest. Did anyone else have that?

I didn't do any spitting. The spitting could be coming from being slightly tight from swelling. Did your surgeon prefill the band with some liquid, because some do? If not, you may be like I was, and have some restriction from swelling caused by the surgery. If that is the case, just consider yourself lucky. I am 8 1/2 months post op and have only had 2 fills of 1cc each in my 11cc band. My stomach is REAL sensitive to being messed with.

I am on day 2 post op and am taking over 1 hour to drink my liquid bkfst. I took my regular medicine and am full already- I feel not nauseated but extremely full and to think that I need to be adding Water and or other liquids to meet the reccomended intake makes me want to gag!

I finally had a loost stool this am- 1st one since day of surgery YIPPEE-

I am trying not to think about it but I am also burping a lot- Has anyone else experienced this? The doctor said ti may be gas from the anesthesia etc. I am trying to walk around the house too- a little bit each hour.

I am burping quite a bit also. I think this is normal. I just came back from a tiny walk outside.

hi, I am so in tune to what you are sharing. I had my surgery on Thursday , so not very long. The first day home. I tried sipping on some broth and I had the most violent regurgitation! The funny thing is instead of it coming out of my mouth, a gush of Water was released. What I mean is yes, I urinated on myself.:welldoneclap:

It was quite scarry! I also had massive heart burn. My doc corrected a hiatal hernia, so i am guessing that is why i had the burning in my chest.

I too am burping alot. It seems like sometimes it gets stuck. I just thought it was the trap gas from the surgery.

I am sure we all will get through this and it will get better.

Hi!

I am close to all of you I was banded on Tuesday. The only thing I complain about is Light headedness.

I am trying not to take my pain meds at all, cause i notice when i do that is when i feel even worse.

My first 2 days I couldn't drink either, so I think as long as u get some down thats good. Today I am trying to focus more on my intake..

The burning in the chest i got to, i think its the fluids sitting on the band, but i dont know... it happens after i drink a good amnt and after i eat. (I am on creamy liquids...)

Good luck to all of us:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
