MrsFlipFlops 2 Posted April 3, 2009 Now that my band is looser than before, I'm being much more cautious about the types of food I eat, as well as the quantity. What types of foods does everyone eat? I'm wanting to make sure I get in enough nutrition, but following the food pyramid would mean I'm eating all day! :-) Thoughts?
Daisalana 33 Posted April 3, 2009 I'm not a good example, I've gained too much weight.. But here's what I 'started' to follow, a good guideline for pregnancy eating. I try to just make sure to eat more veggies instead of carbs when I do meals.. and if I do a salad, make sure to eat dark leaves instead of Iceburg.. simple changes like that. Luckily I have not had any Iron deficiencies.. And I take my prenatal Vitamin everyday (Prenate DHA is what my doc has me on). HeatherO 7 Posted April 6, 2009 I am still focusing first on veggies and Proteins like I did with normal restriction. However, I have added a few things because I am hungry. For instance, I have found that oatmeal is really filling for me, sticks a long time and is really low in calories. Bananas work well too. I also eat a whole grapefruit from time to time by peeling each individual subsection. I am finding that without restriction, I need to get that feeling of fullness and try to find healthier options to get there. Pregnancy is making me ultra hungry . . . even within an hour after meals sometimes.
