30 Day Challenge - who's game?

Recommended Posts

The only thing you have to do for this challenge is walk 1.5 miles EVERYDAY for 30 days ... starting today April 1st (or any day where you can get 30 consecutive days before the end of May 2009).

Don't change ANYTHING you eat or normally do.. if you already are walking daily - then add 1.5 miles per day... if you don't do it, then do it.

Rain, Snow, Flood, Shine, Etc. DO IT... Everyday for 30 days.

Report your initial PRE-Walk weight and weekly weigh in (on same day of week as your initial weight) and your final 30 day weight.

So who's with me?

Pre-walk weight: 288lbs (yep gained some back)

***IF you miss one day - YOU ARE OUT! --- not to be mean, but I am running a hypothesis to debunk a recent article that I read which stated 30 days, everyday, no matter what. Yes, I know it is not a scientific thing, but more of a curiousity thing - and it is based on your honor. If you fall off the wagon for one day, please post that you are out. (But by all means, keep doing it anyways - we all can use it, I know I can...)

I saw your rule about missing a day, but what if we just now stumbled across this challenge and it's 1:39am? Oy...

That is fine... If we end it by the End of May - that will give people time to get in it at any point as long as it is for 30 consecutive days... I think that will work better and will give me more "ammo" for my non-technical scientific info... I have about 8 people doing it with me here, and then anyone I can get through these forums would be great... The biggest thing is is that it has to be done for 30 consecutive days.

Glad to see you on board!!! Woot... lets see if the article was right.. or wrong (and it was just marketing junk).. I hope it is right... It said you WILL lose 43lbs in 30 days by walking 1.5 miles for thirty days consecutively. ...

The article is wrong. I may not not walk everyday, but I average 20 miles of running, 60 miles of bike riding, and 5k meters of swimming a week and rarely take a day off (one day every 4 week cycle), and I've never lost that kind of weight in 30 days. On the bright side, you will be healthier by walking every day. :)

Gotta agree with kago, even the Biggest Loser people don't lose that kind of weight and they do nothing but exercise.

I, myself, run about 11-13 miles a week, do the elliptical about 30 minutes a day and lift weights. The most I ever lost (besides my 10 day liquid pre op diet where I lost 23 lbs) was about 10 lbs in one month post Lap Band.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
