Recommended Posts

Chris

This year, I'll be participating in a very special event called the Breast Cancer 3-Day. My team name is the Boobie Bandits - partly because at least four of us are labpand weight loss patients who could NEVER have even considered doing this a year ago. We are doing it for breast cancer and for ourselves!

I'll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.

I've agreed to raise at least $2,300 in donations. I've set my personal goal at $2,300. So I need your help. Would you please consider making a donation of any amount? Keep in mind how far I'm walking - and how hard I'll have to train. You can give online at www.The3Day.org. Just follow the link below to visit my personal fundraising webpage and make a donation. You can also call 800.996.3DAY to donate over the phone.

I have several friends who have battled breast cancer and won! We want to find a cure for this - and the sooner the better. If you would like me to walk in someone's honor, please send me a picture which I'll laminate and wear as I walk those 60 miles! I would be honored.

According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, approximately 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will die from the disease. That's why I'm walking so far. To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Love & Stuff to all

Chris

I'll be supporting you. I really admire the effort this is going to take. I don't think I could ever do something like this with my knees. Maybe next summer I can take care of them when I am closer to or at goal.

All of this hard work will pay off. Just think how proud you will be of this great accomplishment and it should help you get closer to goal.

6 years ago I did the 3 day 60 mile in michigan. I did it at 320 lbs. My mom and my sister were crew members and my Mom was going through chemo at the time. My mom was at the work station about at the half way point of each day and seeing her beautiful bald head gave me the strength to finish each day. Come day 3 and the 60th mile I was hurtin, but my pain was nothing like those suffering with breast cancer...... Long story short.... You go girl, it's an amazing experience!!!!!

Thanks ladies for your well wishes! I've already made my "minimum" goal . . . so now it is just walk walk walk . . .just hope the osteoarthritis in my hips doesn't flare up . . . that's my biggest concern. If it does, I will do what I can each day . . . but I'm going to TRY to do every one of those miles!

Chris

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.

Lost my Pup last month and struggled really hard for that first month. Stopped tracking intake and slid into old habits here and there. Also quit working out. Can't walk in the neighborhood because of all of the memories we shared. Losing my Pup is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever been through. My Pup was my world 💔
Talked to my doc during my one year followup and they were not worried about my current status. They know, and I know, that I will get back on track.

I'm so sorry. I lost my pup (Mr. Bitters - a chocolate Pomeranian) 2 years ago and it still makes me tear up. He was my everything - my constant companion. I understand. Do the best you can to get back on track.
