saundersd 0 Posted March 31, 2009 (edited) Hi everyone, Diane here from England, hope everybody is fit and well. I have another dilema, Sunday its my treat day and I have a little extra to eat and a nice bottle of wine with my dinner, for dinner this week I had Liver, gravy and veg, yum yum, really nice and went down a treat, as I had some left over I decided to have it for my tea when I returned home from work the next day, now on a Sunday im grazing all day with different types of food, come Monday im as good as gold and back on plan, so I dont eat much during the day, came back from work and got my liver ready, the first mouthfull got stuck, the band must have been so tight that I had to go and bring it up (sorry) sometimes if this happens I just need to dislodge whats stuck and im fine, remembering to slow down and chew chew chew:blink:, last night was different, it felt as though it was dislodged but everytime I ate a mouthfull within 2 min I was back in the toilet, so I gave it a rest and after an hour I had a youghart, forget it that had to come back up aswell, so I had a cup of tea and forgot about eating, I wasnt hungry anyway, so this morning iv got up and im trying to eat Shreddies left for a while in milk to soften them, its ok but a very carefull process, its going down but feels a little sore, dont think I have anything lodged or trapped in band as Breakfast is staying down but probably really bruised it last night, silly really eating liver as its tougher than chicken and im not allowed that yet, so im staying semi soft for today to give band a rest. Any ideas gratefull. Diane xxxx:tt1: Edited March 31, 2009 by saundersd
Jachut 487 Posted March 31, 2009 Just take it easy for as long as you need to with liquid and mushy foods. A bad stuck episode can cause quite a bit of irritation that takes a while to subside. Sorry, but I've turned green and am gagging at the thought of eating liver, lol. Mum used to FORCE us to eat it when we were kids and to me its probably the most hideous food you could possibly eat. I would definitely barf if I tried. Seems you either love or hate offal!
luckyfive101 6 Posted March 31, 2009 giving the band a rest is the best thing you could do. this happens to me quite often. One day i can eat something that goes down easily and is sooooo good.. next day, try to eat teh left overs and they get stuck! Just don't give up. you'll get there! Jachut 487 Posted March 31, 2009 Leftovers are notorious too - there's very little that I can comfortably eat reheated unless its Soup or a very moist casserole. meat is impossible.
luckyfive101 6 Posted April 10, 2009 it's funny what will go down and what won't.. sometimes there is no rhyme or reason.. bread won't go down, but potatoe chips will.. and sometimes I can't even swallow cottage cheese.. but with all the aggrevation.. I WOULD DO IT AGAIN in a heartbeat! It has been a LIFE SAVER for me! I can work my horses, climb over the fences, and walk my German Shepherds without working up a sweat! lol! Good Luck and God Bless!
Marmite_crumpet 0 Posted April 10, 2009 I am still "recovering" from a bad incident with Peanut Butter. It stayed stuck for a few hours, even after throwing up, some seemed to be left in the stoma. Following that incident (day before yesterday) I coudn't eat a thing all the rest of that day. Yesterday I was still a bit sensitive and stuck to mushies. Today I haven't eaten yet, but I can feel slight irritation there. What annoys me is that, although I get stuck as described above, what I can eat doesn't satisfy for long and I can eat (I think) too much of.
