It is wonderfull! Your so cute!!:smile2:

Yay Cutie!! That is cool!

I have been MIA too

Just realised it has been over a month since I've been on.

I haven't been losing for a while now (but at least I'm not gaining). I am around my sweet spot and finding it is hard.

I was overfilled, had the 1cc taken out....had 0.5cc put back in and I still am slightly too full! I have been feeling really uncomfortable eating after only a couple of mouthfuls. And that is eating slowly. I was not eating much at each sitting which was causing me to get hungry in between meals.

I had another 0.25 ish cc's taken out today.

We'll see how I feel in a few weeks. though I just had lunch and it went down great.

So fingers crossed it will be enough this time!

Hi Ro and cutie!

Nice to see you both back and posting!

And thanks for the visitor msgs you left me. I'm fine and recovering, but am still coming here to check on how everyone's going.

I'm hopefully getting refilled today because I'd gained a kg (3lbs) while i was unfilled and I suspect even more since then, and I really want to 'get back on the wagon', so to speak.

So it would be nice having my pals here to catch up with!

Ro, I'm sorry it's been such a tough time for you finding the 'perfect' spot for you. I hope with all the tweaking they're doing, they'll hit on exactly the right combination!

Lellow! You're back! How did surgery go?

You're my hero! I can't believe you've only gained 3lbs! Are you sure it isn't from surgery? Hope your fill goes well. Take good care of yourself!

heartfire, no it was definitely weight and not post surgery swelling. :( They weighed me just before I went in for surgery so I know it's all from being unfilled and eating more than I should have in the preceding week.

Though I imagine I've put on even more since then. After the op, my PS insisted that until I got refilled, that I was to eat 'heartily' so as to aid my recovery, so I have been tucking in without guilt. I figured that once I'm refilled (hopefully today) it's time to take it seriously again, but the week right after having major surgery was probably not the best time to worry about my diet. Plus, I'm swollen so I look about 4 months preggo, and so I imagine the scales would not be kind to me right now!

But now I'm ready to get my band working again and get back on track. I've made a promise to my DH that I will not weigh myself for at least a month (so not til the 1st of May) so as to allow the swelling to go down a bit. You know how obsessive I can be about numbers!!

So while losing almost 8lbs of skin, but then gaining wieght while unfilled, I'm hoping that on the 1st of May, I'll have stabilised at my 'official' goal weight of 154lbs, if not less. If I can achieve that, I'll be ecstatic.

Onederland and a body lift sound like a dream to me! You all are really an inspiration for me. I know that I can do it because I see that other people are doing it!

I will get there. My doctor really likes slow weight loss (I know I could be more determined to make it go faster on my own) so things have gone slower for me but if I don't make onederland by 7/4 (Independence Day in the US) then I definitely want to be there by my first anniversary (which is the goal approved by my doctor). I really want to do better than that because then it will leave 50 lbs for me to lose in the second year to be at goal by my 2nd anniversary (another one of my doctor's goals).

Keeping reaching for those GOALS!

Lellow~ Glad to hear the surgery went well and you are back! I bet you can't wait for the swelling to go down and get a look at the new you!

I am watching the scale and finding that 193 will not go away, not up, not down - just the same. I think it has been at least 5 weeks! Soooooo frustrating!!!

It's hard to believe the 200s ever existed at this point. I will never see that number again thanks to my sweet band. Yippee !!!!

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

We have to remember that everyone moves at their own pace. For some it may be harder to adjust, people may have other factors at play that feed into the unhealthy relationship with food e.g. eating disorders, trauma. I'd hope those who you are referring to address this outside of this forum, with a professional.

This is a place to feel safe to vent, seek advice, hopefully without judgement.

Compassion goes a long way :)

Seems it would be more compassionate not to perform a WLS on someone until they are mentally ready for it. Unless of course they are on death's door...

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
