How Little of Food id to Little

Recommended Posts

I've only had 1 fill but even before that I felt restriction. My meals since solids have always been 4 ounces or less. Since my first fill I've felt tighter, then some relief and now I'm tighter again. I'm loosing with little to no exercise, but I wonder how little is to little. My dr says maybe 2 bites maybe 20 bites. Most meals are pretty slim and the only time I feel I get hungry is late at night like 6 hours after dinner which seems normal. I just want to make sure since I'm eating so little that I concentrate on Protein first as my dr suggests. Honestly the only time I get anything else is maybe one cooked mini carrot or when I do corn flakes for Breakfast. If this is where I'm suppose to be thats great I am doing ok with the mental withdrawl now except when I think about the holidays. I'm really curious to know if anyone else is eating so little. Oh I normally only eat 3 times a day and maybe once in awhile a string cheese for a snack late at night. Thanks in advance

I have the new band generation 2 and thre isn't a ton of information on it but sometimes I wonder if that could be the difference or if I am super lucky. Its weird eating such little foods but as long as thats how its suppose to be I'll pop my Vitamins and keep going. Glad your doing so well too :smile2:

I haven't found much information on it to be honest and was surprised when my Dr told me I had it since I think Nov was the first one used. The biggest difference is I seem to be restricted already with him only putting in 2 cc's and even before that was restricted. I was 204 the day of surgery and 174 now, so in 2 months and 3 days I've lost 30 lbs. I also noticed he didn't give me a fill as soon as most people gte theirs. I haven't had mine 2 weeks yet. I can't say for sure theres really all this difference but in my case it seems to be differant. I have a problem that makes exercising harder for me than most so maybe since I didn't want RNY thats why he decided to use this one. Like I said its just speculation on my part and I may even be living in my own little make believe world but whatever it is its working. He says Now when I hit a wall I'll be singing a differant tune LOL...Seriously I can't help but wonder if I'd loose faster if I could exercise more. I'll keep googling and see if I can find anything else that seems pertinent

Heres a site I just found, now Im not sure if je called it new generation or 2nd will have to ask again LOL Good Luck

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
