Advanced Payment Option??

"Barix Clinics offers an Advanced Payment Option"

Could anyone explain this to me? I have been looking around online and I have not found anything.

I am going to be a self-pay. I have no insurance and I am trying to look around for the best option as far as financing.

Please let me know if you have any info on this - or if you have gone to the Barix Clinics..

Thank you in advance:smile2:

Well, due to the recession hosptials are having a hard time getting people to pay when they get an invoice. However, right now my hospital offered me a %20 discount if I paid in advance and I saved over $300 on a $2,000 deductable!

I paid $5,000 in cash and financed $10,000 through Care Credit. Capital One also has surgical financing. With Care Credit, you can spread the payments over as much as 7 years (which I suggest because it is the lowest monthly payment and you can always pay more without being committed monthly to a larger payment). When I applied for Care Credit, it asked me the price of my procedure and I put the whole amount even though I planned to pay the $5,000 up front. Check with your surgeon's office and see what financing they work with. They can help you with that too!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
