pbed earlier and now feel "bruised" when drinking

Recommended Posts

I have had these Peanut Butter and pretzel nugget thingys before, but today they did not agree with me. I pbed my brains out this afternoon over 5 of them and that was enough that I will never eat them again!

Now, 3 hours later I am attempting to drink something and it goes down with much gurgling...and I feel "bruised"

I am too traumatized to eat real food and will be sticking to mushies tonight for dinner.

I know if I slipped, nothing would go down...I am not in pain, just feel this feeling - any one know what this is?

If you pbed your brains out, you probably have some swelling. Stick to liquids if possible for a day. If it continues, call your doctor.

Stay away from those white carbs. Especially after a Pb'ing incident. My Dr book says to go back to all liquids if this happens for at least 24 hours. You are swollen, the wretching causes some bad feelings and makes it tough. I am 14 months out and only dare to eat about spoonfull of mashed potatoes. I like to rotate the ice cold and the warm afterthis happens. The frozen Proteins shakes take the edge off after this. Good luck.:cursing:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
