Hello all,

I;ve been banded a year ago and since then I lost 62 pounds (I currently weigh 160 pounds)with 3 fills -I currently have 4.5cc in my band. The problem is that I haven't lost any weight since November!!I just keep going up or down 2 pounds every week.. It's like by body is really fighting to keep every pound.

Now I'm afraid that I will never get past this point EVER!!:)

I exercise and make healthy choices.

I've had my last fill on Saturday 1 cc.

Does anyone know how much you are supposed to lose in the first year? I was ashamed to ask my doc  because I think I have failed .......:hurray:

I think 62 lbs is great!! I've only lost 78 lbs and I have a lot more to lose than you. I've been stuck for the last two months and i'm totally frustrated as well. However, I'm running 25-30 miles a week and I feel better than i ever have in my life. I'm just trying to look at it that way. I need a fill. I just hate being so tight and throwing up. I'd rather have a little chub on me and not need to pay for another surgery. LoL

You should talk to your doctor about it and what you should do.

Mostly don't feel bad about your loss...you've done great!!! I'm at 190 and I'd trade you for 160 any day!! heeh

Well what are you eating? are you keeping a food diary? I kept a food diary for a while and stopped. That"s when I started gaining and loosing the same 3 lbs. Since I started keeping a food diary again I am back to losing. You might need to increase your calories a little for a couple of days. Or decrease them. Change up your excersise routine a little. Your supposed to lose 1-3lbs a week on average. There isn't really a set amount of weight your supposed to lose in a yr. Plus the less you have to lose the harder it gets. Good luck.

Don't be ashamed of your weight loss! I only lost thirty lbs my first year. It took me about 15-16 months to hit 40 lbs!

Slow and steady wins the race.

Are you exercising at all? Do you know if you are eating a well balanced diet? Perhaps you could consult with the nutritionist or your doctor for some more pointed advice. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
