OMG I think I'm pregnant!!

Recommended Posts

And yes that is a very good thing!! Im itching to tell someone so here I am with my bandmates. It just doesnt seem real, that it could be possible. I am going to go today and have a blood test done to be positive. I have taken 4.... yes 4 lol... home tests. The first two were the answer brand with the two lines. I got 2 lines but one was very light on both that is why I wanted to try another brand. I went and got a couple EPT tests, the digital type and both of those said PREGANT :tt1:. I want to wait to tell family and friends till I get the results of the blood test. Let me go into my past a bit so everyone understands why this seems so unreal to me. First I am 40. I was with my late husband for 15 years and we didnt do anything to prevent pregnancy during the majority of that time. I had given up any hopes of it happening many many years ago. Now I am engaged (to a 26 year old.. hehe) and planning on getting married May 30th. My life is going great which makes this even more hard to believe. Sorry for the long post, I just needed to get it out. Thanks for listening... or well reading. I have a question for you ladies. What really made your pregnancies "real" for you?

Congratulations!! And wow, you don't look 40, you look 20!

I was scared & panicked (was not ttc), and then 20 weeks when they did the ultrasound where he's fully formed and moving, kicking, sucking, etc. , and found out his sex, it really hit me. Then I did the nursery, started shopping and thinking about being a mom. Then I watched Marley & Me this weekend (I am 36w tomorrow) and I had a panic attack again after seeing how their lives fell apart from kids!!! And I've been stressing about the birthing part, but I try to stop thinking about it when it gets to me. I'm a big sissy.

congratulations! I'm 13 weeks and still kind of soaking it in. I think I'm still in disbelief! lol. Like fairy said, I'm assuming it'll become very real at around 20 weeks.

I found out on the first day of missed period, at work.. told my friend from work & my mom.. I said not to tell.. but then my mom told my dad, and they both told all their friends, who told all my co-workers, and it was like a month of people knowing but being told 'not to tell', so when I started telling people, they all knew already! Big mouths.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
