Hello! I had my lapband put on on March 20th. I have experienced a few problems..I have had diarrhea for 3 days. All I read about in my literature is Constipation. Has anyone experience my problem? Can we take the pink stuff? :tt1:

That is perfectly normal to experience. I had it for about 5 days after surgery. My doc said if it lasts for about 7 days then call him because of the risk of dehydration. Constipation will follow for sure. I am finally getting close to being normal again. Stool softners were a great tool during that rough time.

Thank you for the response. I am feeling better today. This is my sixth day. I was worried. I will be sooo glad to be able to actually "chew"! I wish I could have done it instead on Weight Watchers, but I could not stay in control. I am addicted to food. I am a lifetime member of WW and would lose weight and put more back on. Now, sometimes I think about all the healthy food I could be eating now!!!:cursing: I was so tired of being FAT!! I feel better already after losing already.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
